IFS Therapy for Healthcare Professionals

I help healthcare professionals find their way back to themselves, in the midst of burnout, compassion fatigue, and unrealistic systemic expectations.

For those who have dedicated their lives to caring for others:

I have a deep respect for healthcare professionals. As someone married to a healthcare professional, I have an up-close look at how much can go ignored or unnoticed when it comes to your mental and emotional health.

✤ You may be exhausted by the end of the day without energy to take care of your own physical needs, much less your emotional needs — “I’m burnt out but I don’t know how to fix it”

✤ You may feel heavily impacted by the emotional burdens thrust upon you by patients that go beyond your medical training

✤ You may feel the strain of institutional expectations on you that do not account for your human limitations and make it difficult to set boundaries — “I can’t stop taking work home with me”

You do not need to sacrifice your mental and emotional health in order to survive your job and help your patients.

In my experience, there is no question that healthcare professionals have chosen a challenging path that asks much of themselves. However, you do not have to buy into the lie that you cannot live a balanced, emotionally-present life once you have chosen this field. For many of my clients in healthcare, their emotional self-attunement is one of the most important and effective tools they have against burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma.

I also have great empathy for partners and spouses of healthcare professionals specifically in the thick of training and education. It can be so difficult to navigate supporting them while also getting your own needs met. Often partners in school or residency do not have capacity to show up as the partner you need which can be painful. You don’t have to be alone in your struggle during this season of your relationship.

If you are ready to extend the care you have been giving to others to yourself…
